How to clean a car's catalytic converter

Cleaner for catalytic converter - There is another way to clean the car, namely cleaning using a special liquid - Provis Autolab has a CC or DPF cleaning service commonly called Catalytic Refresh.

How to clean a car's catalytic converter

You should be wary of the catalytic converter (CC), for gasoline engines or there is also a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). Usually because of their hiding location in the exhaust system, CC or DPF are very rarely treated. In fact, this component has a function to filter exhaust gases, so that engine emissions are always maintained.

Even if the car has been used for a long time, the engine will definitely emit soot or residual dirt. This can make the exhaust gas flow is no longer optimal, because the CC consists of small holes, like a wasp's nest.

The risk is, the initial performance feels decreased, plus it takes longer to reach maximum speed. This is because the exhaust fumes are cut off. So the exhaust gases from the combustion that should come out, some are still cut off at the CC - Another effect is of course more wasteful fuel consumption.

The easiest way, of course, is to simply replace the CC - but the price is quite high. The solution, there are several workshops that gave birth to a larger CC. But it must be remembered, this method can make the ECU readings out of sync, it can even make the lights turn on, checking the age of the engine.

Here's how to clean a car's catalytic converter

Apply a special chemical, then wait about 15 minutes for it to successfully remove carbon deposits

In this process, we use 2 special chemicals, one for removing or cleaning dirt, and the other for rinsing.

How to clean it, the liquid is sprayed into the CC through the O2 sensor in the exhaust, when the engine is off and the temperature is not too hot anymore. Then just wait for 15 minutes.

Finish the first stage, after that the second liquid for a new rinse, still through the same hole. Simultaneously, the O2 sensor will be cleaned.

At the same time, the O2 sensor will also be cleaned for maximum results

After rinsing this, the new engine has been running for about 20 minutes - you'll notice later, the exhaust fumes will be thick, indicating dirt or combustion waste has been removed.

This Catalytic Refresh process only takes about 2 hours - So you can still wait if you are in a hurry and still need the same car.
